COLUMNS

AS Betoneks manufactures columns pursuant to the requirements stipulated in standards EVS-EN 13225:2013 “Linear structural elements” and EVS EN 13369 “Common rules for precast concrete elements”. Rectangular or round cross-section, simple or with consoles (concealed steel consoles and reinforced concrete consoles) columns are manufactured. Columns are fixed to the foundation mainly by the means of bolts or column footings (footing necks).
The properties of concrete used for manufacturing the columns meet the requirements stipulated in standard EVS-EN 206-1 “Concrete. Specification, performance, production and conformity”.
For reinforcement reinforcing steel is used conforming to the requirements of standard EVS-EN 10080 “Steel for the reinforcement of concrete. Weldable reinforcing steel”.
The product is accompanied by quality documentation – a declaration of performance meeting the requirements of CPR EU no. 305/2011. (DoP-Declaration of Performance
Used as bearing structures in building the industrial, business and non-residential facilities and residential buildings. Rectangular or round cross-section, simple or with consoles (concealed steel consoles and reinforced concrete consoles) columns are manufactured. Posts are fixed to the foundation mainly by the means of bolts or column footings (footing necks).

We manufacture reinforced concrete columns with the following cross-sections:

a) rectangular cross-section columns
with width of 300–1000 mm
with height of 300–1000 mm
with length of up to 13000 mm
Common column dimensions are 300 × 300, 400 × 400, 500 × 500 and 600 × 600.
Rectangular columns are finished in the corners with facets of 15 × 15 mm.

b)  round cross-section columns
with the diameter of 250–700 mm (typical metal moulds determining the diameter as well as the length are used)
with length of Lmax = 3,300 mm
Consult with the sales department for specifying the desired column dimensions.
Common dimensions for round columns are 300 and 400.

Consoles used in framework columns are as follows:

a) reinforced concrete consoles
Consoles are cast as one unit with the columns.
Threaded fixtures, special bolts or steel inserts are installed to the consoles to fix the beams, cross-bars or roof bearing structures to the consoles. The neoprene strips are also installed in case of supporting on the beams.

b) precast steel consoles

AEP grade products by the Finnish company ANSTAR OY are used for connecting cross-bars and columns with a steel console. A concealed console is concreted into the column as well as the beam which during the assembling are interconnected with a tongue.

KPL, KPH and KPP grade products by the Finnish company Teraspeikko OY are also used in the columns. They enable to fix the steel beams to the reinforced concrete columns.

Connecting the framework columns to the foundation

Connection joints of columns with the foundation are solved with column shoes. Four shoes are concreted to each column through the apertures of which they are connected with the anchoring bolts in the foundation. The entire fixing is later concreted.

What concerns the structural strength, the footing connection is also equivalent.
For that purpose the foundation footings are cast in situ or assembled as finished products to which the framework columns are installed. The posts are aligned and the space between the footing and the column is filled with concrete (see footing necks provided by AS Betoneks).
